Yes, we are! But just like humans, dogs have different types of education.

At Wags, we are a school for 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 & 𝗘𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹. Our curriculum focuses on teaching dogs how to regulate their excitement, how to read other dogs, and how to feel safe in the world. We teach them how to 𝘧𝘦𝘦𝘭.

But we don't teach them "commands."

That is where a 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 comes in. They are the teachers of 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 & 𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀. They teach you (the owner!) how to hold the leash, how to time your rewards, and the nuance between a "Wait" and a "Leave It".

Then, we drag a giant tree into the living room and get mad when they treat it like the park? 🤷‍♂️

✅ It looks like a tree (usually for peeing on)
✅ It smells like the outdoors (or interesting plastic)
✅ It's covered in dangling balls and toys
❌ ...but they aren't allowed to touch it?

If your dog is obsessed with the tree today, they aren't being "naughty", they are just biologically confused.

We talk a lot about helping dogs find that 'Off Switch', but the best part of our job is seeing what happens when they finally find it. Total comfort usually looks a little ridiculous. 😂

But here is the professional reality check:

If a dog is physically unable to settle down, that isn’t happiness. That is anxiety.
